The Highlights
Sunshine on my Shoulders is a custom 4 bedroom, 4 bath beach home decorated with coastal elegance. The oversized kitchen and living areas were designed to accommodate a large group in comfort and other custom features include granite counters and tile surrounds throughout. Relax in a rocking chair or dine at the table on the back porch enjoying the sounds of the gulf. This home is designated for families. Pro-Tip: One of the two neighborhood pools in on the way to the beach so plan to stop for a dip!
The Space
Guests really appreciate the modern furnishings and touches. Solid surface flooring throughout and soft neutral colors provide the perfect retreat for a restful beach vacation. Three King bedrooms with private baths are furnished with memory foam mattresses. The bunk room provides sleeping for 7, with a trundle available, and a private bath. Triple twin bunks and double full bunks all also have memory foam mattresses.
* Renter must be at least 25 years of age. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
*. For you added safety there are cameras located under the house near the entrance door.
Fort Morgan and Morgantown
Morgantown is a lovely, unique seaside community featuring two swimming pools, a kiddie pool, two lighted tennis/pickleball courts and several beach access boardwalks. When you first arrive, you'll notice pride of ownership in this pastel colored, beautifully landscape neighborhood. Guests really enjoy walking and biking along the quiet streets and many rent golf carts and enjoy sunset drives. If you have small children or just prefer the convenience of parking close to the beach, there is a public lot just to the west of Morgantown.
Located a scenic 15 miles from Gulf Shores, you'll find everything you need close at hand. Dollar General and Sassy Bass Market are just a few miles away and have all the basics you might need. There are several restaurants nearby offering a variety of tasty dishes. Tacky Jack's, Sassy Bass (2 locations), Coast and brand-new Jesse's (opening soon) to name a few. Some venues even offer live, local entertainment.
Fort Morgan fishing pier is now open, and anglers will have access to convenient inshore fishing and the abundant species locally available.
Be sure and visit nearby Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge with over 7,000 acres of coastal habit. You'll be able to hike through the preserve and observe local flora and fauna. There are 4 trails, varying in size and terrain and you'll definitely want to make time to visit this natural oasis.

The overall stay at Sunshine on your shoulders was good and I would stay again. The only thing I didn’t like was we could not adjust the air at all. It had a lock code on it and was locked from guest adjusting the air. Also the washer was out but the property manager got a new one in the house in just day and it was a really quick process to swap out. We had a great time overall and the house was very beautiful.

This house was absolutely great. We had 6 adults and 2 kids, and had plenty of space for everyone. The house was perfectly placed for the pool and a quick walk to the beach. We are definitely looking at staying here next year for our next vacation. The property manager came by and checked on us multiple times, and was even kind enough to take the trash cans up or back I don’t remember haha. She was very kind and any questions she was very quick to answer. Thank you for the hospitality. If you’re looking at reviews for a nice place this is definitely the place to stay.

We had a great time on our vacation. There were two adults and five children on the trip and this home was perfect! It was clean and spacious and everything was just as described. You could easily walk to the beach or a pool!

My total family of 12 enjoyed our stay at Sunshine On My Shoulders. The house was clean, and we loved having a bathroom for every bedroom. Dee Dee was very helpful and we loved our stay! The beach was not crowded and beautiful as always. Looking forward to next year!!

Great space for the entire family. My wife and I took our three grown kids, their spouses, and our six grandkids, and we had a great time. Plenty of room, and the house was spotless and nicely decorated. I would like to have more water pressure in the master shower. That would be my only complaint. I would stay there again as access to the beach, and pool was easy since I could bring my golf cart. But not a far walk either.

Very nice house, great set up for families. Home is beautiful. The view and location in proximity to pool and beach was disappointing. Description made it seem much closer. No view.

Deborah, thanks for the great feedback. We are diligent in our efforts to accurately described all properties and we apologize if you were disappointed in the location. We've added a map of Morgantown to the listing which should assist future guests. The home is about 7 houses from one of the two community pools and the beach access is about 4 houses beyond that. Morgantown is not a large community and the proximity to the pools and beach has not been an issue for previous guests. However, we understand that every group is different, and it is important that we manage expectations. Despite the location we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the home, and we hope you'll plan a return visit.

We had a great stay here. You really can't beat the layout for multiple families. A short walk down the street to the beach that is maybe two or three blocks. We actually loaded the back of the truck up and dropped everyone off then the driver would walk back. The pool is only one block away. Enough parking under cover for at least 4 vehicles. A private bathroom for each room. We would definitely go back again.

We enjoyed our trip to Morgantown/Gulf Shores. The bedrooms were very spacious and the location wasn't bad either. The only complaint was the "big" pool was never opened. We understand it was closed for maintenance on Monday but due to the part coming in late, it never opened. The email stated it would be open on Tuesday but it was never unlocked. We even tried several different times of the day and throughout the week. We will be back but hoping to stay closer to the ocean.

We were in constant contact with the Morgantown POA and we know they were actively working with the pool company on getting the repair made as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, this is just one of those things that is outside our control and we are sorry you were not able to use that pool during your stay. Everything about our stay here was wonderful. We’ve stayed in several houses here in Morgantown and this was by far our favorite. It was so clean and decorated perfect. We loved that each bedroom has its own bathroom! The open floor plan is perfect for a large family like ours. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if the rental included a golf cart. My parents are older and the walk was a little tough on them. We will be back!
